INDIAN BAYOU, LA – The first ‘Acadiana Facebook Experts’ Convention of 2016 took place last night, giving local online know-it-all’s (fondly known as ‘pundits’) from a wide range of fields the chance to get together and discuss numerous topics.
The convention, now in its third year, was held at self-proclaimed economy expert Debra Farris’ Indian Bayou home – the guest house, to be precise. On offer were a wide array of finger foods, as well as pink lemonade and iced tea.
Debra believes that every single person in that room is an important member of the local online community.
“We like to consider ourselves experts on pretty much everything”, she said, “We don’t have the fancy degrees or school grades or anything, but every single word we type on the local news outlet Facebook pages, such as KATC and KLFY – all of them are true. People can rest assured that we know what we’re talking about.”
And Debra, who specializes in the field of global economics, believes that she’s at the top of her game right now.
“In between looking after my kids and cleaning my crystal home decor, I’m constantly researching and reading about the current global economic situations from reputable sources such as WordPress blogs”, she admitted, “It’s important for me to let people know that jobs are actually at an all-time-low in this country and that the government are hiding the real statistics. Too many sheeple in this world.”
