SCOTT, LA – There was a bit of a letdown at the annual Scott Boudin Festival this afternoon, after financial issues saw the festival reduced down to one solitary can of Vienna Sausages.
The festival had been postponed for two years due to COVID, and event organizers were forced to tighten their purses this year due to a lack of sponsors willing to put their money into the event.
The festival usually features the best of boudin from the area, with vendors coming from far and wide to showcase their product and allow attendees to leave, fat, happy and full.
However this year, the only food product on display for people to try was a can of Vienna Sausages.
“We’re very sorry that it had to come to this”, said event organizer Peggy Patterson, “But unfortunately we never had the financial backing to bring in the really good stuff this year. But food is food and beggars can’t be choosers, as they say.
Vienna Sausages are delicious, and if you close your eyes and pretend that you’re sat inside Best Stop while you eat them then it’s practically boudin.
You will have to get here quickly, though, as we only have one can containing 12 of them. First come first serve.
Other than that though it’s been a great day out for the whole family!”
