LAFAYETTE, LA – The results of a new poll released this morning show that 94% of Louisianians were shocked to discover that National Beer Day is actually only celebrated once a year outside of state lines.
National Beer Day – which officially took place yesterday – was celebrated in very corner of the country and and is recognized as one of the more important national commercially built celebrations of the year.
However most residents of Louisiana were confused to say the least, indicating that they thought that National Beer Day took place not once a year, but 365 days a year.
“We were amazed to find that most people in the Pelican State weren’t even aware that there was a day dedicated to the celebration of hoppy libations”, explained Donna Brown from the Institute of Beer Related Polling, “These people genuinely think that any day ending in the letter Y is a day to drink and celebrate beer.”
“It’s as if a lot of the people have no concept of the lineage of time when it comes to drinking and celebrating brews. It’s just a constant state of knocking back one can after another. When you look at it from this point of view, it’s no wonder that the idea of National Beer Day doesn’t exist for them, because it’s essentially a continuation of drinking. There are no days or weeks or even years – just beer.”
Local resident Jim Pasco explained why he was partaking in a cold beverage.
“National Beer Day? No sir I’m just 18 beers deep because it’s 11am on a Saturday”.
