NEW IBERIA, LA – A New Iberia man is recovering today after having all 16 of his fingers blown off in a freak 4th July fireworks accident.
The man, who wishes to remain anonymous most likely out of embarrassment, was checked in to New Iberia’s makeshift hospital located at the back of Chili’s at around 11pm last night.
Witnesses say that the victim was heard to have shouted “Hey, ma, look, I think I made fire”, and then not actually releasing the firework from his hand in time.
It is understood that doctors were unable to save any of his fingers, as well as also losing all of his webbing.
