LAFAYETTE, LA – In what is sure to please all parties concerned, a deal was struck today to appease the local anti-LGBTQ knuckleheads by proclaiming July as Lifted Truck Month.
With the recent council vote to formally recognize June as Pride Month in Lafayette, many locals were angered due to their questionable moral and religious viewpoints colliding with the idea of letting people be whatever makes them happy.
Many of these locals demanded to be compensated by having their own month in order to make themselves feel good. And after local officials let them down gently by regretfully informing them that they couldn’t have a ‘Whiter Than White Month’, they were given their second choice.
The proclamation was made this morning, with Mayor Josh Guillory praising the deal and already excitedly making plans to bring world-renowned truck nutz producers to the city for workshops and demonstrations.
A parade is also believed to be in the works, which will show off only the finest in raised chassis engineering and state-of-the-art body kits that can be purchased from Wish for under-$200.
Negotiations are taking place with local dealerships in the area to offer deep discounts on heavily modified trucks that are both perfect for weaving in and out of cars on Johnston Street and causing wakes during street flooding.
