LAFAYETTE, LA – With the confirmation that Festival International’s beloved crawfish bread bowls have been wiped out for another year, officials ordered the FIL flag be lowered to half mast in remembrance.
The announcement was made roughly an hour ago, and the flag was lowered a mere six minutes later.
A small crowd gathered at the lowering of the flag, with many people in attendance shedding tears and needing to be held by their loved ones. It was too much for one member of the public who couldn’t bear the news and had to be escorted away on a golf cart.
There have been no reports of any unrest at this time, however local authorities are on high alert should festival-goers begin to riot as the lack of bowls become too much for them to handle.
