LAFAYETTE, LA – With the primaries in full-swing, most people currently have a favorite that they’re backing for the position of POTUS. But who is the most popular choice in Acadiana?

A recent report published today by Acadiana Political Research (APR) shows that surprisingly, according to yard signs within the area, an overwhelming 79% of residents are leaning towards voting for the little-known ‘For Sale’ candidate – a nominee who seems to have only really risen to popularity within the last 6 months.

Steve Wyatt, lead researcher at APR, said that he was dumbfounded at the results.

“Honestly, I was amazed”, he said, “As of March 15, 2016, a total of 1,640 candidates had filed a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission, but we can’t find this For Sale candidate on that list anywhere. They’re either off the grid, an unofficial ballot, or we’ve just completely missed it.”

But Wyatt admitted that the stats don’t lie.

“You can’t argue with statistics”, he said, “It looks like he, or she, is going to get a lot of votes in these parts. Like, take a walk around the Southside of town and you’ll see these For Sale candidate signs everywhere. And they’re nice houses, with nice cars – clearly very educated voters. We’ll keep digging around to find out who this mystery candidate is.”

The next primaries take place on March 22nd.

Relax, baw.

It’s just satire. So don’t come at us with that lawyering-up bullshit. This is ‘merica. We got that First Amendment, ‘kay? Good.
