LAFAYETTE, LA – It’s already turning out to be a day that requires a lot of brain power for most of Louisiana, as it was revealed this morning that 93% of residents can’t tell the difference between April Fools Jokes and actual local news.
On a day where one should be able to laugh at outrageous and preposterous articles, posts and stories, nearly everyone in the state is convinced that April Fools pranks are just regular news items that wouldn’t look out of place on any other day of the year.
The poll was taken by the National Institute of News over the course of the last 3 years.
“Our results clearly show that people within the state of Louisiana have no idea whether they’re reading real local news, or if they’re being pranked”, said Lead Researcher Will Bennett, “This probably says more about the goings-on in the area than it does their inability to discern between the two.
There must be some crazy shit going on down there.”
