DELCAMBRE, LA – With many people realizing that something had gone wrong somewhere along the line, officials today confirmed that it was a misspelling on the permit that was the cause of this weekend’s Delcambre Pimp Festival.
It’s fair to say that the majority of festival-goers were expecting to dive into a top-of-the-line selection of the areas finest seafood plates, however they were instead greeted with hundreds of people dressed up in bright fur coats and hats and carrying embellished canes.
There was confusion aplenty and organizers were left scrambling to find out just what the problem was.
And at around 5pm the issue had been traced back to a submitted festival permit that had a misspelling on it – an honest mistake, but one that everyone was now reaping the results of.
“We can only apologize to anyone who’s turned up today expecting to sample any seafood dishes”, commented organizer Brian Drummer, “Obviously something went wrong in the application process resulting in nothing seafood-related, and everything pimp related.
On the plus side there are some fantastic fur coats on sale. They’re very comfortable and make you feel pretty cool. There are even some thinner ones that could double as a gown which you could wear to bed.
We’ve also got some sexy 80’s bands performing.Well, actually, it’s just one guy slapping the bass for the whole weekend, but it’s definitely something you can tap your toe to.
We do still encourage people to come down and visit, however please do ensure that you are 21 or older. We will be ID-ing people on entry.”
The festival continues and ends tomorrow evening.
