LAFAYETTE, LA – With the Cajun Heartland State Fair fast approaching, the CDC released a statement today reminding all residents about the importance of ensuring that all shots, immunizations, and vaccinations are kept up-to-date if you plan on attending the annual event.
The fair is listed on the Center for Disease Control’s official list of ‘Places you should probably protect yourself from if you know what’s best for your long-term health’, alongside the likes of The Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia, Morgan City, and The Superdome when Atlanta Falcons are in town.
CDC spokesperson Roger Galdon explained that it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
“We always encourage people to have a complete set of vaccinations before visiting the fair” he said, “and we definitely suggest getting the whole range done, just to be sure.”
“And look, when I say the whole range I mean the whole range – Flu, Hep. A, Hep. B, Malaria, Typhoid, Yellow Fever, Meningitis, Rabies, Encephalitis – honestly, just ask for them all.”
“You might look like a voodoo doll by the time you’re done and might have possibly lost a few pints of blood, but trust me, it’ll be worth it.”
The fair starts on May 23, meaning that the public still has a whole week to get themselves protected. Sammy Kershaw takes center stage for the 11th year running, performing acoustic covers of 90’s and 2000’s rap-metal hits.
