LAFAYETTE, LA – Clearly having piled on a few extra pounds within recent months, The Weather Channel’s Jim Cantore wolfed down his 174th po-boy since May this afternoon ahead of the arrival of Hurricane Delta.
Cantore, who is well-known for being on the frontline of the most dangerous weather systems as they hit the U.S., arrived in Lafayette yesterday ahead of the potentially Category 4 storm – the sixth named storm to hit Louisiana this season alone.
And because of this, Cantore has spent 95% of his time in the good-food state. Surely the number one reason why he has added a little extra “insulation” to his frame this year.
He was seen devouring a full-size Hot-Hot from Pop’s earlier today – a risky move, and one which may in itself see his stomach develop a Category 5 storm sweep through his hotel bathroom later on this evening.
“It’s true, I hate being here”, said Cantore midway through his po-boy, “You guys really need to move yourself out of the way of these cones of uncertainty. Otherwise I’m going to remain in the cone of absolute certainty with regards to getting bigger and bigger.”
It’s rumored that The Weather Channel are a little concerned with just how many storms Louisiana are getting, due to the fact that the more Cantore eats, the slower he’ll be if or when he needs to escape a storm. However they’re also aware that he’ll also be harder to knock down now; a huge plus when you’re in 130mph winds.
